Assistive Technology

When I first came to TRU, I was astonished to
discover thaKurzweilMerlint the UbiLibrary had no assistive technology, so I began to advocate for the acquisition of some basic resources to make our collection and services more accessible to people with disabilities.

In response, the Library obtained a capital grant from the University to purchase an UbiDuo, a Merlin HD, and a Kurzweil 3000 software package, and I was asked to prepare instructional materials for to assist both in using them.  The instructions for the Merlin HD and the Kurzweil 3000 were laminated and posted near by and the instructions for the UbiDuo were laminated and tucked in its bag.
